CIWY currently manage three wild animals refuges in the departments of Cochabamba (Parque Machia), Santa Cruz (Ambue Ari) and La Paz (Jacj Cuisi). Each of the refuges rescues and rehabilitates wild animals that have been illegally traded on black markets, kept as pets, or kept in zoos and circuses. The refuges have professional staff who are specialised in the clinical aspects of wildlife care, quarantine, rehabilitation and reintroduction to natural habitats. Volunteers from across the globe carry out daily care of these wild animals, including cleaning, feeding and long walks with the animals through the jungle. Please click on links in the left column for more information about each of the three parks.
